Django

I am an official sponsor of the Django project, supporting its continued development.

Why this one

The support is not abstract. Django runs in production behind work I have delivered: the Artis booking and ticketing system, and the SDG Invoervoorziening portal through which Dutch government bodies publish service information for the EU Single Digital Gateway.

Both are cases where the boring choice was the right one. Public infrastructure and high-traffic ticketing have the same underlying requirement: they outlive the team that builds them. That makes a framework’s governance, documentation and maintainer pool matter more than its feature list, because those are what determine whether the thing is still maintainable in ten years by people who were not there at the start.

Sponsorship is the straightforward way to keep that true for the next project that depends on it — mine or anyone else’s.
